Come and join us for St Ives Film in a Day - a fun event where we create a short film together in just one day and explore St Ives through film!
Join us for a day filled with creativity and filmmaking around St Ives. This event is your chance to unleash your inner director and help create a short film from scratch. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm and ideas! We'll provide all the equipment and guidance you need to enjoy capturing St Ives on black and white film, using wonderful old clockwork 8mm and Super8 moving image cameras. Don't miss this opportunity to be part of something special. Hope to see you there! We meet at the Borlaise Smart Room at the historic Porthmeor Studios then head out into town and Porthmeor beach to film! Back at the studios we make up our 'caffenol' coffee based film developer and hand process the negative film, project and home telecine the results ready to view as a scratch digital screening at the end of the day. A copy of the black and white film will be sent to participants to enjoy or edit at home and highlights of the day will be shared on social media. If you would like to use a particular camera, or to make your own film, please message for prices and availability. Come on your own, to film with a small group of others, or as a group of friends or family. Price: £140 per person, including shared cameras, filmstock and processing equipment and materials. Groups of 3+ please message for discounted pricing.
